What is not included
Even if the items were purchased at IKEA, the following are not included, unless expressly stated otherwise:- Custom countertops (except for services that specifically mention them).
- Bargain items
- Display items
- Fully assembled items.
- Customized items.
First service
If your order includes all the items needed to perform the service, you’ll have one initial and only service call. Before the visit, we’ll contact you to confirm the date, time, and access conditions to your home, in order to ensure the proper completion of the delivery, assembly, installation, disassembly, or pickup you’ve requested. In order to perform the service, we need your prior confirmation and for you to be available at the agreed-upon date and time. If you are not present at the service location, the service provider will wait for up to 15 minutes. If the service cannot be performed due to a lack of confirmation, the customer’s absence, or changes requested outside the established deadlines, it will be necessary to schedule a new visit, and the corresponding charges for a second visit may apply.
Where to place the items. If you have an associated assembly/installation service, it is important that the items be located in the designated space. If you booked the delivery service through IKEA and fail to provide this information, you will be required to pay for a new delivery to place the merchandise in the correct location.
In the case of locations where access permits or parking fees are required (such as shopping centers), you will be responsible for covering these costs. In residential complexes, shopping centers, airports, and other government facilities, you must obtain the necessary permits and notify IKEA of the dates and times for the service prior to our arrival.
If you fail to provide the necessary information, making it impossible to perform the service, or if the designated location does not meet the required conditions and safety standards, the service cannot be carried out, and you will be responsible for the travel costs.
We work to ensure you receive your order in full. For services that include assembly or installation, particularly for kitchens, the delivery may be rescheduled if any essential components are missing to ensure the product is properly installed and functional.
We are committed to meeting the agreed-upon deadlines. However, in exceptional circumstances beyond our control—such as adverse weather conditions, government restrictions, breakdowns, or traffic incidents—the service may need to be rescheduled. In such cases, we will coordinate a new date with you within a maximum of 7 days from the originally scheduled date.
Second service
If your order includes items that are on backorder or temporarily unavailable, we will schedule a second service call to complete the delivery of the remaining items and finalize the service you purchased.
If your purchase includes assembly or installation services, the second visit will be scheduled once all necessary items are available to ensure the service is completed properly. We’ll also keep you informed of any delays related to product availability, and, if you prefer, you can request a refund for the items still pending delivery.
We will contact you in advance to coordinate the new visit and confirm the date and time of the service. Please note that the contracted services include a maximum of two visits. If you require additional visits, you will be responsible for the corresponding cost of each visit.
The same terms and conditions established for the first service will apply to the second service.
Changes of date and location
You may request a date change for your service, subject to availability and the conditions listed below:
- For transportation services, the request must be made before the scheduled delivery date.
- For assembly and installation services, the request must be made at least two (2) business days in advance.
If you wish to change the address or location where the service will be performed, please note that additional costs may apply and changes to the initially scheduled timeline may occur.
The new requested date must be scheduled within seven (7) days of the date of purchase or service booking. While the new visit is being coordinated, we can store your merchandise at no additional cost, subject to space availability.
You may make a maximum of two (2) date changes per service. Additionally, the service cannot be postponed for more than thirty (30) days from the date initially agreed upon.
Once this period has elapsed, we will issue a refund for the items and services paid for. Please note that charges associated with schedule cancellations or other applicable costs, as outlined in the terms of service, are non-refundable.
Changes of items in your service (add/eliminate)
If it is necessary to add or remove items once the order has been placed, we will cancel your order and place a new one. As long as there are at least 2 working days left for the delivery of your order or the corresponding service and it will be subject to availability. We remind you that it will not be possible to add items to a completed service, partially completed, or whose creation date is after 30 days.
We will refund the corresponding part of the service that has not been performed, as long as the amount paid for the service is higher than the minimum amount of the service. It will be refunded in the same form that has been paid after at least 7 to 10 working days from the removal request.
The refund will be made according to the refund conditions and the payment method used.

Security
At IKEA, your safety is our top priority. For this reason, we do not assemble or install items suspended from walls or ceilings made of drywall, wood, glass, metal, natural fibers, or similar materials when conditions do not ensure a secure attachment.
As an exception, as part of our kitchen installation service, we can mount upper cabinets on drywall, provided that the structure allows for a safe installation and that approved fastening systems for this type of installation are used.
When scheduling a service, it’s important that you let us know the type of wall where the assembly or installation will take place. Before beginning work, our team will assess the conditions of the site to confirm that the service can be performed safely.
If the conditions of the space pose a risk to people, merchandise, or the installation, we may decide not to perform the service. In other cases, the cost of the items and associated services will be refunded, minus only the cost corresponding to the trip made.
Surveys
IKEA may conduct surveys and follow-up visits to verify quality, safety, and compliance with our service standards, always with the customer's prior authorization.
Set it up
At IKEA, safety is a priority. For this reason, items that could tip over must be securely anchored to the wall using the recommended anchoring systems.
If you hire an assembly service, we will inform you of the need to secure the item to the wall to ensure safer use of the product, especially in homes with children.
For safety reasons, for items where the instructions specify it, the item must be anchored to the wall. Acceptance of these terms implies your agreement to have the item anchored to the wall.
If you decide not to authorize the anchoring during the service, our team will only be able to assemble the item. In that case, you must provide written confirmation of your decision before the service is completed.
Packing removal
We will remove all packaging and wrapping generated during the assembly and/or installation service and take them to the area you specify within your home.
Furniture and appliances removal service.
If you’d like, we can help you by picking up your sofa, mattress, appliance, or old kitchen. To schedule this service, simply request it when you purchase the associated service and pay the corresponding fee.
To ensure a safe pickup, it’s important that the items be free of pests. If any pests are detected, we will not be able to provide the service.
In the case of mattresses, they must be properly wrapped before pickup for hygiene and safety reasons.
Additionally, the items must be disassembled, and their dimensions must allow for safe transport from their current location to the transport vehicle via the available access points in the home.
Schedule of services
The schedule of services will be distributed as follows:
- Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Saturday from 08:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Always respecting the day and the time slot that we have agreed with the client when contracting the service.
Place of performance of services
When booking the service, you must provide any relevant information that could affect its performance, including restricted access, the absence of an elevator, the number of floors, specific schedules, access permits, or other site-specific conditions.
If the location does not have an elevator, items will be transported only up to the fourth (4th) floor.
If the service is provided in residential complexes, corporate buildings, shopping centers, or any other premises requiring special authorizations, it will be your responsibility to obtain the necessary permits in advance to ensure staff access.
Before work begins, the area designated for the service must be in suitable condition for its performance; it must be clean, unobstructed, free of pests, and have sufficient space to work safely. Additionally, it must have a supply of electricity and water when these are necessary for the provision of the service.
Any prior construction, masonry, plumbing, electrical, or site preparation work must be fully completed before the scheduled service date.
If you have hired an installation or assembly service, it is important to inform the provider of the location where the items will be installed or assembled and to ensure that this is the exact location where the service will be performed.
Services will not be provided at properties that are under construction, undergoing renovation, or that do not meet the minimum requirements for access, safety, and space necessary for the proper performance of the service.
If you fail to provide information that prevents the service from being performed, or if the specified location does not meet the required conditions and safety standards, the service cannot be performed and will be considered completed, and you will be charged for travel expenses.
Conditions for providing the service
In order for us to successfully perform your service, it is important that an adult be present throughout the visit, present valid government-issued identification, and sign the service report upon completion.
If no one is present when we arrive or if the person responsible leaves the residence while the service is being performed, the service cannot be performed or continued. In that case, the visit will be considered completed, and a new travel fee may be charged for a future visit.
When booking the service, it is important that you inform us of any conditions that may affect its performance, such as restricted access, lack of an elevator, number of floors, specific schedules, access permits, or other site-specific details.
If the service is provided at a residential complex, corporate building, shopping center, or any other location requiring special permits or authorizations for access, it will be your responsibility to obtain them before the scheduled service date. In the case of deliveries to addresses under construction, the service provider will not be responsible for any potential issues.
When booking the service, you must provide information on any details considered important for the service’s delivery (narrow access points, dirt roads, specific schedules, condominiums, elevators, number of floors).
The access point for performing the services must be in perfect condition and accessible; furthermore, if there is no elevator, we will only carry items up to the 4th floor. Please note that if access is not possible under optimal conditions, we will unfortunately be unable to perform the contracted service.
Before the visit, the area where the service will be performed must be clean, uncluttered, free of pests, and meet the necessary conditions for safe work, including access to electricity, water, and sufficient space when required.
Additionally, any prior construction, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, or preparation of the area must be completed before the scheduled service date.
Items included in the service must be located at the site where the installation or assembly is to take place, unless an additional transportation service has been contracted.
If, during the visit, it is determined that access, safety, or space conditions do not allow the service to be performed correctly, or if the information provided at the time of booking does not match the conditions found on-site, the service cannot be performed.
In these cases, the visit will be considered completed, and the corresponding travel charges may apply. We do not provide services to P.O. boxes or public locations where we cannot guarantee the safety, quality, and control of service delivery.
