General Terms and Conditions

What do the guarantees cover?

The scope of the guarantee for each product is described with each product.

Duration of the limited guarantee

Each guarantee lasts for the number of years established for each product starting on the date of delivery of the product to the consumer. Products not included in the specific years will have a standard 90-day guarantee subject to the general conditions set forth in this Guarantee Policy.

What will IKEA do to solve the problem?

IKEA will examine the product to decide if it is covered by the guarantee. If covered, IKEA will decide whether to repair the defective product or replace it with the same or similar product. In such cases, IKEA will be responsible for the repair costs, additional parts, labor and travel expenses incurred by IKEA personnel, but not those expenses or taxes incurred by the customer in receiving or claiming under the guarantee, which are the sole responsibility of the customer. This does not apply in cases where the repair has not been authorized by IKEA. Any defective parts removed during the repair will become the property of IKEA in the event that the customer is no longer interested in them. In the event the item is no longer sold by IKEA or the product has been discontinued, IKEA will provide a replacement of equal value or features. For discontinued items you may request specific documentation from Customer Service.

Under the provisions of articles 63 paragraph and 70 of Law No. 358-05, if it is proven that the product has been sold defective, the consumer will have the option of replacement, price reduction or refund of the money.

Guarantee Conditions

The guarantees are valid from the moment the consumer (first consumer/purchaser) has the product in his hands, as applicable. It is required to show the invoice, in physical or digital format, as proof of purchase and identification of the holder. In case of warranty redemption (first time and consecutive) the term of this does not produce renewal, the remaining term will be honored in any case, retroactive to the date indicated on the purchase invoice; if the consumer is deprived of the use of the good for causes related to its repair, this time shall be computed as an extension of the term of the legal warranty.

In case of resale or third party purchasers, the guarantee period that accompanies the good does not produce renewal, the remaining period will be honored in any case, retroactive to the date indicated on the purchase invoice of the first consumer or purchaser.

Exceptions

Follow the assembly, installation and care instructions carefully. Warranties do not apply to products that have been improperly stored or assembled either by an unauthorized service provider or by the customer directly or in cases where the same has not been performed by IKEA, improperly used, abused, altered or cleaned with improper methods or products. Warranties do not cover natural deterioration, moisture, cuts, scratches or scuffs, or damage caused by impact, shock or accident. The warranty does not apply if the products have been placed outdoors or in a damp environment or if the products have been used for non-domestic functions (unless otherwise specified). It does not cover pest damage, damage caused by isoptera (dry or damp wood termites, subterranean termites or termites), xylophages (woodworm), ants, mice, insects of the Anobidae Family, Lyctidae Family, Cerambycid Family, wasps, beetles, beetles, cosmids, or plant or insect pests that damage the integrity of the furniture, the guarantees do not cover unintentional, accidental damage, loss of profit, caused to property or to the physical integrity of the consumer. The warranty is for domestic use only and the invoice must be in the name of a natural person, excluding office/business furniture. The products subject to warranty will have a maximum of 4 warranty redemptions. After the established redemptions, IKEA will offer a non-refundable credit note for the original value paid minus ITBIS. Under the provisions of Articles 63 paragraph and 70 of Law No. 358-05, if it is proven that the product has been sold defective, the consumer will have the option of replacement, price reduction or refund.

In order to benefit from these guarantees, you must follow the specific maintenance, use, care and cleaning instructions for each product.

You will find all maintenance instructions inside your product packaging, on our website or you can request them from your IKEA store's customer service.

General legal rights

Validity of guarantees:

These guarantees do not affect in any way the legal rights that correspond to you by law, the rights and legal provisions protected by law 358-05 prevail.

What does this guarantee cover?

This warranty of 2 to 25 years applies only to domestic use and covers defects in materials and workmanship in the SEKTION cooking system.

This guarantee covers the following parts of the kitchen system SEKTION.

Products with a 25 year guarantee.

  • SEKTION frame structures (except TUTEMO. VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEM)
  • UTRUSTA hinges.
  • MAXIMERA drawers of full opening.
  • UTRUSTA shelves of tempered glass and melamine.
  • SEKTION legs.

Products with a 2 year guarantee.

  • Knobs and handles.
  • Door opening devices.
  • Trims.
  • Sinks.
  • FÖRVARA drawers.
  • Wall rails and plinths.
  • Door dampers.
  • Integrated dishwasher hinges.
  • UTRUSTA wire baskets.
  • UTRUSTA electric pressure opening device.

Pest Damage: Damage caused by isoptera (dry or wet wood termites, subterranean termites or termites), xylophagous (woodworm), ants, mice, insects of the Anobidae Family, Lyctidae Family, Cerambycid Family, wasps, beetles, beetles, beetles, or plant or insect pests that damage the integrity of the furniture are not covered under IKEA's 25-year warranty. Customer must provide proof of fumigation to IKEA 7 to 3 days prior to installation of the kitchen, failure to do so will prevent IKEA from proceeding with the installation. Logical deterioration due to age, moisture damage, bumps, cuts, burns and incidental damage are not covered by this warranty.

What does this guarantee cover?

The guarantee covers failures of the appliance that have been caused by manufacturing faults or material faults from the time the consumer (first consumer/purchaser) has the product in his hands as applicable. This warranty applies to domestic use. Exceptions are specified under "what is not covered by the guarantee".

Which appliances are covered by this guarantee?

2 years warranty for LAGAN and TILLREDA series.

5 years warranty is valid for all other IKEA kitchen appliances (except LAGAN and TILLREDA).

What is not covered by the guarantee?

  • Deterioration or natural wear and tear.
  • Requests to correct installation of the appliance, when performed by a non-authorized service provider or by the customer directly or in cases where the installation was not performed by IKEA, to give you or instruct you on product use instructions, to replace or repair fuses, or to correct wiring or plumbing.
  • Repair or replacement of consumable parts such as light bulbs, water filters or air filters.
  • Replacement of spare parts if the appliance is not used properly, for household use only, or when used in a manner not recommended by the operator or the installation instructions.
  • Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation when performed by an unauthorized service provider or by the customer directly or where not performed by IKEA.
  • Cases in which no fault was found during the technician's visit.
  • Installation when performed by an unauthorized service provider or by the customer directly or in cases where installation has not been performed by IKEA not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes.
  • Superficial damage including scratches, dents, dents, chips, unless such damage is due to defects in materials or workmanship, and is reported within 30 calendar days of purchase or delivery to the consumer.
  • Surface damage (scratches, dents, dings, chips) caused by IKEA's contracted transportation service not reported within 7 calendar days of delivery.

Who will perform the service? The guarantee is covered by Sarton Dominicana SAS, who will provide the service according to its operation or a network of subcontracted services.

What is covered under this guarantee?

This warranty applies to domestic use only and covers defects in materials and workmanship of all faucets. Our kitchen faucets are tested to international standards and we only use high quality components to ensure years of guarantee.

What is not covered by the guarantee?

This warranty does not cover deterioration due to age, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impact or accidents, or residue from water. It also does not apply to the filter which must be cleaned regularly and replaced once worn.

Follow the assembly, installation and care instructions carefully. This warranty does not apply to products that have been improperly stored, assembled or installed, improperly used, altered or modified, or cleaned with improper cleaning methods or products.

What does this guarantee cover?

This guarantee is only applicable to a domestic use and covers defects in materials and manufacturing on: structures and seat and back cushions.

10 years of guarantee on the following products:

  • All sofas, sofa beds, armchairs and footstools, excluding those of natural fibers, covers and PÖANG cushions.

25 years of guarantee on the following products:

  • STOCKHOLM sofa.

Products/parts/components not covered by this guarantee:

  • Fabric covers.
  • Leather covers.
  • Coated fabric covers (nonremovable).

What does this guarantee cover?

This 10-year warranty applies only to home use for clothing and shoe storage, and covers material and manufacturing defects in the following components of PAX/KOMPLEMENT indoor closets and accessories:

  • Structure
  • Hinged doors and hinges
  • Structure dividers and removable shelves for structures.
  • Sliding doors and sliding door mechanisms
  • KOMPLEMENT interior organizers
 

What is not covered by this warranty?

This warranty does not cover: KOMPLEMENT removable jewelry tray, KOMPLEMENT accessory with 4 compartments, KOMPLEMENT accessory with compartments, KOMPLEMENT mat, KOMPLEMENT box and KOMPLEMENT mirror with hooks. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by bumps, accidents or debris. What is covered under this limited guarantee?

This warranty applies to all bathroom sinks and faucets. The warranty applies to household use only and covers defects in materials and workmanship on all sinks.

What is not covered by this guarantee?

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by bumps, accidents or debris in water. Products that have been improperly stored or installed by a non-authorized service provider or by the customer directly or not performed by IKEA, improperly or incorrectly used, altered, or cleaned with improper methods or products not recommended in the item's owner's manual. Pest damage: Damage caused by isoptera (dry or wet wood termites, subterranean termites or termites), xylophagous (woodworm), ants, mice, insects of the Anobidae Family, Lyctidae Family, Cerambiidae Family, wasps, beetles, beetles, stitchworms, or plant or insect pests that damage the integrity of the furniture. For the SALJEN series applies standard warranty of 90 days from the date of delivery. For taps it does not cover the filter/aerator, which should be cleaned regularly or replaced in case of wear. The warranty on IKEA shower faucets is valid for ten (10) years and is effective from the date of delivery of the product.

What does this guarantee cover?

The warranty for BEKANT, IDÅSEN, RODULF, TOMMARYD and TROTTEN series, GALANT, IDÅSEN, TROTTEN storage systems and HÄLLAN cabinets; includes TOMMARYD frames and boards and are valid for ten (10) years from the date of delivery to the consumer. The invoice, in physical or digital format, must be presented as proof of purchase. The TROTTEN board is also covered, bearing in mind that markings must be used for NON-permanent whiteboards. The warranty covers defects in materials, workmanship and performance of all components of the series described in the previous paragraph.

What is not covered by this warranty?

The following products are not covered by guarantee: EILIF Screens. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by bumps, accidents or debris. Products that have been improperly stored or installed by a non- authorized service provider or by the customer directly or not performed by IKEA, improperly or incorrectly used, altered, or cleaned with improper methods or products not recommended in the item's owner's manual. This is why we can guarantee that they will last for at least 2 years (in the case of speakers and purifiers), which means that they will continue to work as the fist day as long as the maintenance instructions are followed and they are exposed to regular domestic use.

2 year guarantee

What does this guarantee cover?

This guarantee is valid for FÖRNUFTIG and STARKVIND air purifiers. Our products are tested under the most relevant international standards and we use the best components to ensure the promise of a 2 year guarantee.
This guarantee covers the entire functionality of the purifier. This means that, within a regular domestic use and following the maintenance instructions, the purifier will work as the fist day, even after 2 years.

Products that are not covered by this guarantee:

The gas and particle filter that is sold separately are not covered by this guarantee.

SYMFONISK and ENEBY

2 year guarantee

What does this guarantee cover?

This guarantee is valid for the SYMFONISK and ENEBY speakers. Our products are tested under the most relevant international standards and we use the best components to ensure the promise of a 2 year guarantee.
This guarantee covers the entire functionality of the speakers. This means that, within a regular domestic use and following the maintenance instructions, the speaker will work as the fist day, even after 2 years.

General conditions

What does this guarantee include?

The scope of the guarantee for each kitchen assembly and installation service hired with IKEA.

Duration of the guarantee

Each guarantee lasts 2 years after the completion of the kitchen assembly or installation.

What will IKEA do to solve the problem?

KEA will examine the kitchen assembly or installation service to decide if it is under guarantee. If so, IKEA will decide whether to repair the defective service or decline due to misuse. In such cases, IKEA will be responsible for the repair costs, additional parts, labor and travel expenses incurred by the IKEA staff if the product is repairable without IKEA incurring extraordinary expenses to access it. This does not apply to cases where the repair has not been authorized by IKEA. Any defective parts removed during the repair will become property of IKEA in the event the customer is not interested in the part. In the event that the item is no longer being sold by IKEA or the product has been discontinued, IKEA will provide a replacement of equal value or features. You can request specific documentation for discontinued items at Customer Service.

Guarantee conditions

Guarantees are valid from the moment the kitchen installation or furniture assembly service is completed.
