STEP BY STEP
- Cook the meatballs in a skillet or in the oven.
- Prepare the mashed potatoes by pouring the contents of the package—without thawing—into a pot and cooking for 9 minutes. Add a little grated cheese, butter, and egg yolk to thicken the mixture.
- Dice the vegetables or cut them into thin julienne strips, then sauté them in a skillet with a little oil, salt, and pepper until tender but still firm. Set aside for garnish.
- In a pastry ring, place a generous layer of mashed potatoes, pressing gently with the back of a spoon to compact it. Add a layer of crumbled meatballs and repeat the process: another layer of mashed potatoes (also pressed down) and a thin layer of meatballs to finish. This will help the timbale hold its shape when you remove the ring.
- After 2 minutes, carefully remove the ring and garnish with the sautéed vegetables on top.
